I've been a software developer for over 15 years, and I love building things that help other developers get stuff done.

I got into conversational AI well before ChatGPT - building on the NLP platforms and bot frameworks that existed at the time, back when getting a bot to hold a real conversation was a genuine challenge. But every project hit the same snag: managing conversation state. It seems simple on the surface, but doing it well takes more care than you'd expect. When LLMs came along, that need only grew.

Back in early 2023 I created llm-exe, an open-source package for working with LLMs that I still maintain today. Across all these projects, I kept wishing for a good conversation database that was fully baked and ready when i needed it - so eventually I just built one myself.

That's DialogueDB. I work with a small group of developers and DevOps engineers to keep it reliable, easy to use, and doing one thing really well. If you have questions or just want to say hi, I'd love to hear from you.
